THE STORY BEHIND MAISON MARGUERITE

Maison Marguerite is more than just a brand—it’s a tribute, a passion, and a lifelong dream brought to life. I’m Sophie, and I founded Maison Marguerite with one goal in mind: to capture the essence of my mother’s extraordinary interior design talent and make it accessible to others.

For 25 years, she has mastered the art of creating interiors that feel both refined and inviting. Her ability to balance structure with warmth, sophistication with comfort, has always fascinated me. Watching her work, I realized that great design isn’t about following trends, it’s about understanding harmony, knowing how to create atmosphere, and making spaces feel naturally complete.

Some of you might be wondering about the name Maison Marguerite. It’s no coincidence. Margit, my mother’s name, traces back to Margarita, meaning daisy. Just like the flower, her style is understated yet full of character, never overpowering, always perfectly placed.

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned from her is that introducing depth and life into a space doesn’t always require bold colors. There’s an art to creating richness without obvious contrasts, by layering textures, playing with natural materials, and letting the quality of craftsmanship speak for itself. A thoughtful mix of linen, wool, and organic fibers can add more soul to a room than the busiest of patterns ever could.

Maison Marguerite is also deeply inspired by the years we spent growing up in Flanders, Belgium. It was there that I developed a true appreciation for nature’s finest materials and the beauty of neutral palettes. Flemish interiors have a quiet confidence, earthy tones, raw textures, and a deep respect for craftsmanship. That influence is woven into every collection, shaping our philosophy of elegance through simplicity.

Our materials are chosen with care, our designs celebrate craftsmanship, and our approach is always about creating spaces that feel just right.
